The
San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) is proud to present its
signature Annual Fall Art Auction. Now in its 28th year, this comprehensive
exhibition of more than 150 art works by some of the hottest artists
in the Bay Area opens with a reception on Friday, October 3rd from 6
to 8 PM. The exhibition culminates in a live auction of spirited bidding
on Saturday, October 25th. Auction doors open at 6pm and the bidding
begins promptly at 7pm.
A
not-to-be-missed evening in the South Bay, the ICA's auction provides
an opportunity to purchase the freshest work of established and emerging
talent, while supporting the ICA's innovative exhibitions and educational
programming. From painting to photography, installation to sculpture,
the artists' contributions reflect the scope of the Bay Area's vibrant
and eclectic styles and interests. The auction includes recognized names
such as Manuel Neri and Gustavo Ramos Rivera as well as artists who
may not be familiar names, but are representative of the most promising
new artistic talent in the area. This festive event is a must for art-lovers
and collectors who are looking for exciting artworks.
To accompany an evening of lively and competitive bidding, there will
be champagne and savory hors d'oeuvres donated by some of the South
Bay's finest restaurants. Auction tickets are $40 for ICA members and
$50 for non-members. A 20 percent discount applies to tickets purchased
before October 25. To buy tickets call 408.283.8155. All proceeds from
the auction benefit the ICA's exhibitions and programs.
